Entry: Pour IOS Audio frequency to Chromecast - Cheap Sonos

A while past, I got bored with having 1 Audio Pass receiver and decided I sought something a bit more. I decided a Multiroom audio apparatus was naturally the adjacent stair. I began looking into present projects and found that most you had to invite, and adding fresh features to information technology looked to be more of a head ache than I really wanted.

Thusly naturally, I definite to human body my own Multi Room Audio setup that takes advantage of multiple projects and only combines them into one.

I have spent a lot of time trying to bring i it as lanceolate as possible and fit to use out of the box.

What's different about this than else standardized projects?

From my understanding most of the solutions to accomplish a similar goal will require an application on each device that will want to play iOS music to the Chrome Throw away Sound devices.

Whats nice about this project is that after the first initial installing limn at a lower place, the only thing that will be required on apiece new device wanting to stream music to the Chromium-plate Cast sound devices, is that the twist will need to relate to the AirPlay gimmick and begin music. What is needed?

  • Raspberry Pi 2/3

At once what?

  1. You will need to download ubuntu mate, Ubuntu MATE ,click here
  2. Then unzip the .img.xz file with WinZip Oregon your preferred zip platform.
  3. From there payload the image onto your Coyote State Menu (I found this will take a good 30-40 minutes)
  4. Now originate dormie your Pi with the Mount Rushmore State card unexploded up.
  5. Apparatus Ubuntu to your liking ( I found logging in automatically to work best with how this project works )
  6. Pioneer a endmost
  7. run sudo apt-get set up stinker -y

  9. then, cd iOS-Audio-to-Chromecast
  10. and so, chmod +x ./install.sh
  11. then, sudo ./install.sh
  12. Follow the prompts, the install should take a good chunk of time over 20 transactions (depending on how recently you accept updated). Once completed please reboot.
  13. Now the important parts, setup your chromecast audios and make up twist groups inside the Google Home App. You simply go to your devices in the big top decent of the app, then click the settings for any Chromecast Audio device and tip create groups. Here is how you will live able to add more devices in the Web UI.
  14. Now go to your Private eye's address happening porthole 2221 in your web web browser. Instance: 192.168.0.18:2221, the browser will show a paginate with all the devices found on your meshing

How to begin?
